Lead Software / AI Systems Engineer (Part-Time Startup)
- Mpontuo Health Technologies needed a unified backend for its healthcare, food delivery, and pharmacy platforms — each running on separate infrastructures.
- Architect and build a multi-tenant microservices core serving all three product lines from a single platform.
- Engineered the backend with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, NGINX, Docker; built Bufalo AI with FastAPI, SQL, and LLM orchestration for data extraction, lineage tracking, retries, and quarantine reprocessing; designed data workflows for traceability, reliability, and recovery.
- Unified three platforms into one ecosystem; supported 8 native mobile apps (4 iOS / 4 Android) plus Electron pharmacy app, reducing weekly market research from 4 days to real-time — 4x increase in sales output.
Senior Machine Learning / AI Engineer
- A fintech startup needed an AI trading system, but existing models degraded in live markets.
- Sole ML/AI Engineer to research, architect, and deploy a multi-model trading engine and AI research pipeline.
- Architected NEXTMIND combining CNNs, LSTMs, HMMs, XGBoost for market analysis; designed ML pipelines with NGINX load balancers, Redis caching; investigated model degradation; researched LLM/agentic AI architectures; designed black-box intelligence plus deterministic risk-control architecture separating model reasoning from execution policies, risk limits, monitoring, kill-switches.

- Designed service schemas, backend data models, and API integration patterns for a distributed diaspora marketplace covering merchants, inventory, payments, and fulfillment.
